Seems like a perfect thing for everyone having trouble moving money.

Decentralized, anonymous, no fees, and worldwide. Like the old Neteller days (but without having to rely on Neteller!)

The liquidity trading USD to BTC is pretty thin, but seems to be getting better all the time. And yes, there are sportsbooks taking Bitcoin exclusively. Would post a link but don't want this banished to site promo. :) Really just an amazing technology and wondering if anyone else using it.

Just an update 18 months later. When I first posted this 18 months ago, bitcoins were trading for $1 apiece. Now over 10$ apiece. And that sportsbook still going strong. Hope someone paid attention, lol <><>

They are now over $100 each. BTCSportsBet is still the strongest bitcoin book, 2.5 years later. Just think how many guys could have been saved/made a fortune if this post didn't get shitcanned to Site Promo. Nice mods.

Just chiming in here, we offer both Sports Betting as well as Provably Fair HTML5 Casino (no downloads required, works in mobile, etc). Our site supports instant deposits and withdrawals, and a pretty good spread of leagues to bet on (with more on the way).

P.S. Check out our free Survivor pool where the winner will take down 5 BTC (~$550 USD), no strings attached. http://www.casinobitco.in/suicide-pool

NBA’s Sacramento Kings to accept bitcoin
Team is first major sport franchise to take bitcoin

By Michael J. Casey
The Sacramento Kings basketball team will become the first major professional sports franchise to accept bitcoin in return for its products, marking a symbolically important step in the virtual currency’s bid to achieve mainstream acceptance.
“The way I saw it, bitcoin had reached a tipping point where it had crossed from being a curiosity to a becoming a legitimate form of doing commerce,” said Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé, explaining his decision to allow payments in the virtual currency. Ranadivé, who has coined the phrase “NBA 3.0” to describe his vision for a National Basketball Association that uses technology to energize basketball’s relationship with its fan base and establish a global presence, said the Kings’ adoption of bitcoin “is yet another step in that process.”

According to Ranadivé, the founder and chief executive of Tibco Software Inc., fans will be able to buy everything from tickets and jerseys to hot dogs and beer with bitcoin, whether via online transactions through the Kings’ website or in mobile payments at the stadium. Payments will be processed by Bitpay, the largest bitcoin-payments platform. The goal is to have all consumer transactions open to bitcoin by March 1.
